The Zambézia Market Analysis provides general information on the livelihoods, markets and food assistance contexts in Zambézia province of Mozambique, with special emphasis on the areas covering livelihood zone five. The ultimate objective of this work is to offer insights relevant to the planning of food security activities and related analyses in the province.
The study is structured along the main themes:
General context, which includes information about the population characteristics, natural resources, agricultural production and livelihoods, infrastructure, and vulnerable groups.
Market structure, conduct, and performance of key food staples, as well as access to food
Food assistance modality analysis
The study was carried out by researchers at the University of Notre Dame Pulte Institute for Global Development in collaboration with local partners.
Please note that USAID’s Research Technical Assistance Center (RTAC) has concluded. The RTAC website will be decommissioned in the next few months. Some materials will be transferred to the NORC website and the USAID Learning Lab website in the coming weeks. However, we recommend downloading any materials you would like to preserve at this time.
