We are pleased to announce that Together for Early Childhood Evidence (T4ECE) will be continuing into a third phase through 2025. Originally convened in 2018, T4ECE has been promoting early childhood data and measurement in low- and middle-income countries.
Since 2020, the ECD Measure Group at the University of Nebraska Medical Center has hosted T4ECE as part of USAID’s Research Technical Assistance Center, in partnership with NORC at the University of Chicago. The T4ECE consortium has worked closely with country teams in Ethiopia, Liberia, Rwanda, and South Africa and other global partners. With our partners, we have explored how the use and application of data can lead to positive change in ECE systems and to accelerate country-level action to improve young children’s early learning experiences. The consortium has also led various in-person and virtual learning and capacity building initiatives to support USAID and country partners use measurement and data to improve pre-primary systems. The ECD Measure team is grateful to USAID and NORC for their support of T4ECE in its 2nd phase. For more information on our phase 2 activities and lessons from Together for Early Childhood Evidence, please see our recent report.
We are looking forward to continue Together for Early Childhood Evidence in its third phase, under a partnership with Palladium. We will support USAID missions and country teams to build national capacity for interpreting and applying data on early childhood education. This will include country-level early childhood research activities in Ethiopia, Liberia, Rwanda, Malawi, and South Africa. The country teams will also engage in dialogue to exchange information and experiences as they work toward building data-driven ECE systems in their countries. Stay tuned for more to come!
